Talking with Demons 2. The Issue of Ground

"Through lack of knowledge, the majority of even the most spiritual people, do not carry out a full and perpetual war upon this army of wicked spirits; and many are shrinking from the subject, and the call to war against them" Jesse Penne Lewis (War on the Saints)

Jesse Penne Lewis is generally regarded by charismatics as responsible for bringing an end to the Welsh revival of 1904. She was close to Evan Roberts during the revival and also after the breakdown from which he never fully recovered. Yet from reading "War on the saints", it is clear to me that her fight was against an onslaught of deceiving spirits that descended upon the Church at a time when people were unwittingly receptive to any, and all, supernatural forces rather than just the Holy Spirit.

"War on the Saints" describes a "confederacy of satanic spirits" and the conditions which, when fulfilled, they are able to manifest their power.
It is a remarkably "up front" account of Satan's mode of operation and therefore in my opinion, one of the most important books of the last century. 
In fact, many of those charismatics who believe that the Holy Spirit causes people to bark like dogs, or roll around under the pews hissing like snakes, should take serious note of it.

Her insights into the working of demonic spirits in human affairs are profound. For example, she identifies how evil spirits are able to disguise themselves as part of a persons personality, or how the use of mediums to predict the future, allows spirits to manipulate the circumstances of a persons life so that the "foretold" event, comes to pass.

One of the primary messages that Jesse Penne Lewis expounds upon, is the issue of "grounds", the legal rights which we give to demonic forces to enter our lives, either in part, or to an extreme degree.

The circumstances whereby we allow "grounds" for demonic activity in our lives are varied. Volitional sin is arguably a primary factor, as is involvement in the occult. Being a good person, or even going to Church, does not offer a reliable safeguard.
It is through knowledge of the working of the true Holy Spirit, which will ALWAYS reaffirm the message of the scriptures, that we can begin to stand against the wiles of Satan.

The means by which we are to resist, and furthermore, to strike back against the enemy are described as the "Armour of God". Truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, and the spreading of the gospel are our defence, and the "Sword of the Spirit", which is the word of God, is our weapon, and mighty it is to cut through the darkness. That is why it is essential that we are familiar with the scriptures. 

Talking with Demons

Demon-   an evil spirit or devil, especially one thought to possess a person or act as a tormentor in hell

I am sick and tired of being tormented by these things so I thought it was about time to torment them a little.

You see, I am involved in a fight I did not ask for. I am by default (as a Christian), charged with the business of dealing with demons yet I find that most of those who claim the same beliefs as me, are either ignorant of"Spiritual warfare" or find, for a variety of reasons, that they are really not equipped to "Fight the good fight". They tend towards a superficial kind of faith that does not disturb the status quo.
What I have discovered, is that neither ignorance, or passivity, have any effect when it comes to sorting out the problems caused by demons either in our own lives, or in the lives of others.

It is necessary to extend awareness of the existence of these malevolent, inter-dimentional entities because they are ALWAYS out for destruction. They are the scorpions of the frog and scorpion fable and they will ALWAYS sting you because it is their nature.

I find it highly ironic that our society has all but rejected the idea of supernatural occurrences, instead, demonic manifestations are regarded as psychopathic tendencies, yet the fathers of modern psychiatry were adept in occultism. Jung in particular was born into a line of highly proficient mediums and himself, channeled spirits from an early age.

To see the link from occultism to demonic manifestations, some biblical knowledge is required so I recommend getting hold of a bible to become acquainted with basic spiritual principals.
The key to the matter is that, as a believer in Jesus Christ, you hold considerable power and authority.

In the gospels, Jesus commanded demons to leave people. He gave his disciples authority to cast out demons as well. That is truly good news isn't it?
In the Book of Revelation (12:11) We read that the Devil is defeated by the "Blood of the Lamb" That is because the curse of sin over us is broken. the slate is wiped clean and Satan and the demons have no legal right to our lives. The other requirement for victory is that we do not love our lives, even unto death. In other words, like in the gospels, we give everything we own to purchase that field which contains the hidden treasure of the Kingdom of Heaven.

When the disciples rejoiced that the demons were subject to them in His name, Jesus warned them to rejoice only that they were headed for The Kingdom of God.
The power to cast out demons does not automatically confer citizenship of heaven.

Emmanuel TV, which is the broadcasting arm of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) has published dozens of you tube videos portraying people being delivered from evil spirits.Of course these exorcisms could be staged for the camera, with actors playing the roles of the tormented victim, but I suspect that we are seeing  real life encounters with unclean spirits. I say this because I have personally witnessed events such as these and there was no trickery. The demon possessed in the clips, exhibit exactly the same behavior.
The issues to be considered here are whether or not these poor people were truly delivered. What became of them in the weeks and months after the service had finished?
In the case of  the founder of SCOAN, TB Joshua, do his beliefs really align with true bible teaching? Reports state that TB Joshua maintains that some of those he ministers to are in fact, half man, half fish, indicating that although he invokes the power of Jesus name, he may be actually still operating under traditional Nigerian shamanism
Whatever the spiritual alignment of TB Joshua, this goes to strengthen my point that demons are subject to the name of Jesus, but that in itself is no indication of the spiritual well being of the minister involved in the casting out process.

It is clear in the Bible that, even though they healed the sick and cast out demons in His name, Jesus rejected a group of unfaithful followers, declaring that, "Not everybody who says "Lord Lord", will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but those who do the will of the Father".

In any case, for successful deliverance from demonic possession, deliverance counselling is an absolute minimum requirement, as often, a persons lifestyle has opened doors to demonic activity.
When specific areas of a persons life are examined in the light of the Holy Scripture, the doors that allowed the entry to demonic spirits, can be closed. This involves repentance and renunciation of sin, and as forgiveness is received through the precious Blood of Christ, allows the healing and regenerative work of the Holy Spirit to begin.

The Choice

There is a video out there called The Choice, by Trey Smith and I haven't been able to bring myself to post it. The reason is that there are some doctrinal errors in his presentation, and the fact that he appears to still be into "a smoke".
Never the less, the dynamic style is perfectly suited to the subject matter.
I find it fascinating, so here it is.

More tea Imam?

Just when I was beginning to think that the world was full of lunatics, this story helped me to realise that only the majority are mad.

Of course, the EDL missed a trick here. They should have gone to the demonstration, armed with tea and halal biscuits for the Muslims.
I would hazard a guess that many of the EDL would classify themselves as Christians, which means that if they really follow Jesus, they should love their enemies, not hate them.

See what happened when Muslim inmates at a maximum security jail, were asked to pray for murdered soldier Lee Rigby.

The selfless "agape" love, about which, Jesus spoke, is revolutionary and disarming of the powers of darkness and hatred. We could all do with giving it a try.

Zeitgeist - The Spirit of The Age or Dangerous Void?

I decided to review "Zeitgist the Movie" as it had become apparent  recently, that sections of the on line "Alternative Media", had become "infused" with film's mindset.
Ten minutes was all I could manage before I decided to stop watching but I did see enough to draw a conclusion.

Zeitgeist is a clever promotion of "Chaos Magic"

According to the rules of chaos magic, I don't need to qualify that statement.
The rule is that there are no rules, but since the world, and more specifically, society, relies on rules, and most of us require some semblance of logical thought to draw conclusions on matters of religion or spirituality, I will.

The film primarily uses "Deconstructionism" although the Wiki entry for chaos magic, terms the process, "Discordianism".
Christianity is deconstructed while Eastern philosophy is introduced as the central or default belief system upon which the opinion of the film maker is based.
The opening sequence is a quote from eastern mystic, Rinpoche, and the "Christ myth Theory" is derived from the writings of DM Murdoch, better known as Acharya, which refers to spiritual teacher in Hinduism.

The fact that these claims are presented under the guise of a new kind of truth, along with 911 and NWO conspiracy theory, may be enough to convince some people of the use of magical techniques, but the very concept of "Zeitgeist", meaning "Spirit of the Age" denotes the state of flux that is typical of Chaos magic.

Vicar, Kevin Logan writes on chaos magic: "The very essence of chaos magic is a strong dislike of the doctrines and dogmas of the past, a freedom from any restraints, and a magic securely grounded in "what feels right"" (Paganism and the Occult p72)

There are lots of occult connections in Zeitgeist, either through the makers of the film or relating to the concept itself.

Believe it, or take it with a pinch of salt. I'm long past feeling the need to be apologetic about this stuff.

Deterring The Already Dead

This article by Laurent Murawiec, Senior Fellow, Hudson Institute, Washington, D.C. Illustrates why the fight against all kinds of religious fanaticism is impossible.
It also helps to explain why Christians believe in "taking up their cross daily",

Is the Price/Earning Ratio of the contemplated action so hugely negative that it would wipe out

the capital? Deterrence works if the price to be paid by the party to be deterred hugely

The Alternative Reason for Pope Benedict's Resignation

When I was young, I was always told, "Never get into arguments about politics or religion" That piece of advice turned out to be vaguely correct. However, this is the Internet where nothing is real so it doesn’t matter.

I am intrigued by some of the reports that were circulating from alternative news sources from the time of Pope Benedict's announcement to retire.The gist of the reports were that the Pope was forced to retire because of an international arrest warrant issued against him for sexual abuse.

I was shocked at the magnitude of the scandal and set about to find out more about it, only to discover that, despite page after page of Google results from websites like David Icke, Prison Planet and Beforeitsnews.com, none of the mainstream media outlets, were carrying the story. Not one.

After some investigation, it transpired that the "News" reports, had originated from a single source, the "International Tribunal against Crimes of Church and State" (ITCCS) which despite its official sounding title, actually comprises of only one man, Kevin D. Annett, who is a bit of a crackpot, given the fact that he intends to initiate a campaign of occupation and confiscation of Church property. I also discovered that renowned atheist, Richard Dawkins and the late Christopher Hitchens, had tried to find a way to have the pope arrested during his visit to the U.K.

Reuters revealed that because the resignation was unprecedented, the Pope would stay in the Vatican for for immunity, and security reasons, as there would be a likelihood of pilgrimages to his home. 

It seems to me that a clear pattern of anti-Christian or anti-church sentiment has become evident within the truth seeker/alternative news community. I suspect that this is largely due to the influence of the Zeitgeist films, which are described as, “Conspiracy theory meets the New Age”.

Since anyone who is familiar with the truth about Alice Baily’s New Age agenda and the work of the Lucis trust, will likely diverge from the Zeitgeist philosophy, there is some disagreement in store.
